TAIEX and AVIS Workshop
On September 14, the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) Instrument of the European Commission kindly hosted a consultation workshop on AVIS at the TAIEX offices in Brussels. The workshop was chaired by Olga Zorko, TAIEX and Malika Moussaid, AVIS and looked at AVIS and other Taeix web-site accessible databases. Some 64 delegates attended from 20 European countries, representing laboratories, inspection services, and epidemiology. Participants expressed a high level of appreciation for the workshop itself and strong support for continuing to extend AVIS as a web-based tool for use in state veterinary services. Further workshops are now under consideration.
